Cartology is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. A central part of our work is the design and presentation of interactive programs that stimulate four cognitive functions of the brain: executive, language, memory, visual/spatial. While some programs are presented for a fee to offset some costs, contributions enable us to provide our interactive programs to a broader range of people. Specifically, we are seeking funding for these two programs:
MEMORY CAFE Memory Cafes are welcoming social gatherings for people living with changes in their memory or thinking, people living with dementia, and the people who care about them – family, friends, or professional caregivers. This project is to raise funds to plan, promote, and operate a new Memory Cafe in Central Denver. This Memory Cafe will be offered monthly, free of charge to the person living with changes in memory or thinking or with dementia, as well as the primary person(s) who care for them. The duration of each Cafe will be 90-120 minutes, and will provide:
- opportunity to socialize in a supportive environment
- wide variety of interactive programs to stimulate four cognitive functions of the brain: executive, language, memory, visual/spatial light
- healthy refreshments

CARE PARTNER CONNECTIONS The purpose of Care Partner Connections is to reduce the burden of providing in-home care to older adults living with changes in their memory or thinking. This specific series of four workshops will supply the family member, friend, or professional caregiver with training on specific enrichment activities they can conduct at home with their loved one. This project is to raise funds to plan, promote, and conduct Care Partner Connections in Central Denver. This four-session series will be offered over a period no more than eight weeks. It will be offered free of charge. Funding and space availability will determine whether a complementary activity will be offered for the persons living with cognitive challenges. The duration of each workshop will be 90-120 minutes, and will provide:
- education on four cognitive functions of the brain: executive, language, memory, visual/spatial
- specific activities, resources, and tools for implementation of in-home activities related to each of the four functions
- opportunity to socialize in a supportive environment
- light, healthy refreshments
Goal: $2500.00
Donors of $100 or more will receive a letter at the end of the year indicating your donation for tax purposes.
